Wii Remote - Make Gaming Accessible to People of All Ages

The main feature that differentiates Wii games from other console is its one of a kind on wireless remote control called the Wii Remote. The Wii Remote, which is the primary controller for the popular Nintendo Wii Games, was introduced in September of 2005 at a Tokyo Game Show. Since then, Wii Remote or Wiimote has been receiving a vast attention because of its unique features like its ability to sense motion quickly and accurately.

To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities, Nintendo wanted to create a controller that was as inviting as it was sophisticated. The outcome is the Wii Remote controller. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages.

The Wii game system is definitely unique but the most interesting and unique part of the entire thing is the Wii remote controller. The Wii remote controller is a hand-held controller like no other. Instead of being wide and fitting in both hands like most controllers, it is slim and looks very much like a remote control that you would have for your television and stereo system. It fits in one hand and has all of the buttons you will need to play the majority of games that go into the Wii system. It is the sensor on the end of the aptly named ‘Wii-mote’ that makes the system work so well.
